DFM's Response to the Pandemic
All previously-scheduled in-person events at Durham Friends Meeting are cancelled until at least June 15th. All DFM buildings are closed for all use by the DFM community, rental groups, and the wider community until further notice. If individuals need to access our buildings, please email the Grounds and Facilities Committee at firstname.lastname@example.org so we can be sure Friends are entering one at a time and that surfaces are disinfected as necessary.
Although the physical space is closed, our community is still very much alive. There are two ad-hoc committees that have been formed: 1) the Ad-hoc Committee on COVID-19, which is tasked with keeping our community informed and making recommendations about preventing the spread of the virus; and 2) the Ad-hoc Community Care Committee, which is tasked with organizing methods to ensure that our members and attenders continue to feel connected, held, and supported during this uncertain time.
